Portable Solar Charger - This Could Save Your Life!

True story....There I was, at the top of an isolated mountain working at a communication site. I finished my work , and returned to my truck. Uh oh! My battery had died. No problem, I'll just pull out my cell phone and call for help. Are you kidding me!?!? My cell phone is dead too? How am I going to get out of here and back to warmth, safety? It's along walk down the road to the bottom of the hill and it's COLD outside. Oh yeah! I have my portable solar charger in my backpack! I take it out, plug my phone in to it, lay it on the dash in the sunlight, and 5 minutes later I have enough charge in my phone battery to call for help.

I can not endorse this type of charger enough. If you are a camper, hiker, lone traveler, or just want to ensure you are able to charge your cell phone, emergency radios, batteries, etc. in an emergency or after a disaster you NEED one of these. Luckily, I bought mine years ago and I literally carry it everywhere I go. I keep it in a backpack inside my car.

In case you aren't familiar with them, it is a small, lightweight, fold out, 20 watt solar panel. All you need to do is fold it out, lay it in the sun, and plug your device in with the proper USB charging cable. It provides up to 3amps of charging. You can plug your phone in directly or charge up a portable battery pack (like I do) to charge your phone or other devices from it later.
